Yes, you can connect the Orbi directly to your modem.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am using the BRB50 kit, and I returned my FiOS router to Verizon. The connection to the satellite is amazingly fast, and I suddenly get speeds 3 to 5 times faster than I had before

Please try again later. You have the option of either keeping your current router and running the Orbi alongside it in Access Point mode, or turning the FIOS router's WiFi radio off and strictly using the Orbi's signal as your WiFi network. Instructions for setting up the Orbi in AP mode are located beginning on page 90 of the User Manual: https://www.netgear.com/support/product/rbk50.aspx?cid=wmt_netgear_organic#docs Which Orbi system you choose will depend on your individual needs. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have Giga Bit FiOS and replaced the Quantum router completely with Orbi Model RBK50. I had to reset the Fios Modem so the orbi would connect to it. So far I'm happy with the results. I was having issues with the number of routers I needed to get coverage.
