You would probably swap out the Gateway router and plug in the Orbi to your modem instead, unless the Gateway is a combo modem/router. I get terrific coverage by running a long cable to the new Orbi router placed high on a bookcase where the signal is still strong through the ceiling to the next floor. The downstairs satellite is in direct line of site at the foot of the stairs and covers the entertainment center well.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Buy it and try it. I found it worked well for me. My house is 3800 sq ft and I was getting a signal throughout WITHOUT plugging in the satellite. With it, I'm getting amazing speeds and no dropouts.
