Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We have a 2 story, 3500 sq ft home, and have not had any issues with signal strength. Computer with device is downstairs, and bedrooms are up - plenty of signal

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am using it at a range of 50 feet across an open room. It can handle twice that. You would not need a range extender till you pass 150 feet or more.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not necessarily, it just depends on the location you use it in. I have mine in a closed area across the house from the router and it picks up 2-3 bars. I've been considering a booster, but I'm getting good performance as is.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Whether or not you need a range extender depends on the strength of your signal and your environmental conditions, and not as much on the wireless adapter. Although there might be some minor variation, most wireless adapters should pick up about the same. If you can pick up the wireless signal with another device in the spot where you want to use this, then you will most likely pick up the signal with this, or other USB adapters, too.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It depends on how far away you are. I live in a two story home and was located 1 floor below the dual band netgear router. Poor signal in G range (floor is wood). Was using powerline connection but speeds only up to 54mbp per second. Purchased a NG wireless dual band usb and its smoking around 240mbp per second. OF course my ISP does not provide me with that much information, its smoking otherwise. If you purchase one and are using a laptop, walk the neighborhood with your laptop and the N dualband wireless usb and see where the signal drops off. it will give you a good idea of what the signal distance is from the source.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Obviously it depends where you will be using it in relation to where the router is in your home. If you're using it inside your home or on the deck or something, you will most likely be fine.
