This game was imported over from the Wii U not the wii and this is very unique and on the switch version you get two games in one if brought the Wii U version you would have to buy the Mario Wii U and you will also had to buy the new Luigi Wii U games the games was sold separately

You must buy a Switch in order to play this game. Up to four people can play at once.

I am not sure if this is available for the wii. This exact game will only work on the switch either SD card the game comes on or digital download version saved directly to the switch. The wii uses disc formats only and SD will not work for it. I believe you can play up to 4 at same time as long as each person has their own controller.
