Since the venting is in the front, you can fit this cooler in a tight space with very minimal clearance. I have just 0.5" space in the back and just 1/16" clearance on the sides and 1/8" top. I removed a 15" trash compactor and installed this cooler. It is a tight fit.

It is recommended to leave 1.5" - 2" of clearance at the back and 1/4" of clearance on each side and at the top of the unit to ensure proper circulation to cool the compressor and condenser.
