“Do I have to purchase the ice packs for this AC unit and Will the AC unit leak on my rug in my bedroom? Or can I just fill it with water and if so what kind of water spring or purified or just regular tap water?”

Two blue ice packs are included. It shouldn’t leak if it’s working properly and the water tank isn’t overfilled. I’ve been using regular tap water, and it’s been fine.
