• Hello, The power cables available for the 622GW are the cigarette lighter cable or the hard wire kit. We would not recommended using a third party OBD cable to power the device as this would void the warranty.

• I would not do that the 12v charger will need to be plugged in all the time. It would most certainly overheat.
