It sounds to me, from previous questions here, that you must be able to have a monitor/tv available for viewing, during the initial setup, in order to set up a user name, and password. It would therefore seem logical to me, to have the system NVR able to access internet, in order to register the user name and password...... BUT, I haven't purchased a system yet, so this is guesswork. I would also like to know if the system will operate totally internet free, as our internet provider is very flaky, and/or very slow. I understand this would mean no remote access.

To remotely view your system, you must manually connect an Ethernet cable from your modem/router to the DVR/NVR. If you do not want remote viewing, you can connect the system to a TV or monitor to view live video feed and recordings. Thanks for choosing Night Owl!
