Thank you for the question and happy to help. We advise our system be operated within the specified weather ratings for the camera and recorder, but cabling can be run outside if needed. We would advise to keep it off the ground and protected from the sun to extend the life of the cable sheathing and away from animals. Night Owl SP Digital Support Team
