If the DVR unit loses power it will stop working but it will return to its regular operation if the power comes back on, a possible solution is to have the DVR connected to a (UPS) Battery Backup unit . if one camera is damaged due to vandalism and or weather related due to humidity except (lighting strike). The DVR will still work to record. To perform a backup from the recordings. log on to your DVR unit next open the main menu at the bottom of the live view screen with the 4 cameras showing. Once you have opened the main menu, click on the "Record Tab" at the top, perform your desired search based on channel, date , and time. and then click on quick backup. for this step, you will need to connect an external hard drive bigger than 1 TB for better results. Thank you.
