Yes you use your own email as the sender and receiver. Of you are concerned about the DVR being stolen then put it in a DVR lock box mounted to the wall or floor. Or a locked closet.

Please try again later.Dear customer, 1) For this setting, it will have to be your own email address. or you can create a new email address named " DVRALARMSYSTEM@GMAIL.COM" and with the proper email client server settings you can email it to a regular email address, in that way you can filter out the emails when you see them in your inbox. 2) You will be emailed only a screenshot per alarm triggered for this setting please make sure to allow the DVR to pre-record at leas 3 minutes ahead in that way the screenshot is not delayed and or missed by much in your email.
