The unit has a unique device ID and can be password protected. The only way to get device ID is scan QR code on device. Good security.

I access through the IOS application, I have to enter the serial number on my unit. Someone would have to have that information to access your footage.

No you must have the thirteen digit code from the DVR on order to access.
