Cameras connect to base dvr/nvr wirelessly. They do require a wired power source. A 12v wall-wart with 9ft cord is included with each camera. The base has it's own wifi that the cameras use, they do not use your home's wifi. . The base needs a wired ethernet connection to the internet.
