“Will the two-way audio work by only using the base and not the online app? I would like to use all features of this system without having to connect to the internet for security reasons.”

To utilize the 2-way audio feature, you would need to download and connect our Free mobile App to your Smart Device. To use the App, the system would have to be networked. Without Internet, you would still be able to detect audio from the cameras (1-way audio). However, you wont be able to use the speaker function as that requires the App. Thank you!
