Yes, depending on the work schedule I set mine with continuous 3 days (72 hours) and the other 4 days are motion only. Each camera can be set to continuous or motion only within a 24 hour timeframe by selecting the hour of the day with option of recording. Mine is not hooked to wi fi. I monitor at the site only.

Also, regarding remote viewing, you will need to connect your Night Owl DVR to an internet connection so you may watch your cameras remotely.
