During my comparison shopping before buying my grandsons binoculars as his Christmas gift, I finally settled on these NIKON Aculon A-30 10x25. I remember seeing on the NIKON chart of the different binoculars they sell that these are not waterproof and fog proof ONLY water resistant. Not sure about the lenses being aspherical or not. The salesman at BEST BUY is who showed me this NIKON content information chart on the store computer. It was very helpful and there is also a toll-free phone number where NIKON customer service personnel are readily available to answer any questions. I did call them for some other questions I had and they answered the phone quickly and were very helpful. I suggest you do the same. They are very easy to reach and willing to help future as well as previously established customers.
