Is this a good macro lens? null

This is not a macro lens, but Nikon makes close-focus diopters that will allow you to make macro photographs with high quality definition. I recommend that you use a sturdy tripod to eliminate camera shake when making macro shots.

That lens would be OK for Macro. A better choice would be the AF-S DX Micro-NIKKOR 40mm f/2.8G lens. It is reasonably price, has a 1:1 reproduction ratio (for life-like macro images) as well as a much closer focusing distance.
