This AF-S DX Micro Nikkor 85mm f/3.5G ED VR Lens is ideal for extreme close-up and general photography and would be an excellent choice for shooting jewelry. This lens is optimized for DX format DSLRS. If you are using an FX format DSLR consider the Nikon - AF-S Micro Nikkor 60mm f/2.8G ED Lens.
