Not much difference. Price and avaliablity are the issue. Even if you wanted the 5.6 model... good luck finding one.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The better choice, of course, is the f/3.5-5.6 lens (the second one you mentioned) as it is a faster lens, lending itself to better photos in lower light, and a little more relief in camera shake..
