The Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-300mm f/3.5-6.3G ED VR lens was released in 2014 and is newer than either of the two versions of 18-200mm. The Nikon AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED lens was released in 2005 and the Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR II was released in 2009. All are great choices for a compatible Nikon D-SLR camera as they each provide a dynamic range of use.
