Yes, this lens should be compatible with the D3200. Both the camera and the lens are DX format and the lens is an AF-S type which has the focus motor inside the lens which is what you need with the D3200. The D3200 does have the ability to adjust for lens distortion within the camera. However, this lens was released after the D3200. If you have not updated your camera's firmware and/or distortion control data, this lens may not be included. You should check your camera's firmware version and see if you need an update. If you don't want to update the camera firmware, You can manually adjust the distortion in programs such as Photoshop or Lightroom.
