• Yes, it works. The lens contains Nikon’s Silent Wave Motor (SWM) which does the focusing.

• The D5600 does not have it's own built-in auto-focus motor, but does have auto-focus capability with AF-S lenses, including the AF-S 50mm f/1.8G Nikkor lens.
