The 50mm 1.8g will be perfect
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Jay. the 35mm f1.8 and the 50mm f1.8 are good lenses for blurry BG. I have a D3400 and have both lenses, they are great and cheap too.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The easiest way to create a soft blurred background, known as bokeh, is to shoot with a wide open aperture (low f#) - preferably f/2.8 or lower. This AF-S NIKKOR 50mm 1.8G Lens (#2199) can open as wide as f/1.8 and is a great choice for creating this effect. Another good choice for use on the D3400 would be the AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G Lens (#2183). If you are interested in macro photography check out the AF-S DX Micro-NIKKOR 40mm f/2.8g Lens (#220) which can be used for both close-up and standard shooting. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I prefer prime lenses (not zoom) because I can manually focus them and get the bokeh just right. For portraits of singles or couples I use the 50mm prime
