• Yes, it is compatible. The effective focal length of any lens placed on a DX sensor camera (like the D7000) is to multiply by 1.5x. So this lens will offer the same perspective as a 75mm lens on a full-frame camera. If you want a 50mm equivalent for your D7000, look at the Nikon 35mm 1.8G DX lens.
