“Compared to Sigma 18-300 f/3.5-6.3 DC Macro OS HSM C? I have a D5300, first DSLR. I want to do some wildlife photography. Don't care about pro lens as I'm not a pro photographer. Sigma makes a 18-300 for about $100 more which seems to be highly rated. How does this lens compare?”

• The Nikon is much sharper and has better contrast than the Sigma. It is also faster at the long end (f/5.6 vs f/6.3) which results in better subject isolation (bokeh) and allows you to use lower ISO at the same shutter speed (i.e. less noise in your pictures).

• IDK I wanted a good lens so I got what I really wanted, I didn't even look at other brands
