• No, you cannot manually set the shutter speed.

• The COOLPIX B500 features numerous automatic and Scene shooting modes in which the shutter speed and aperture are automatically chosen by the camera. The B500 does not feature exposure modes where the shutter speed or aperture can be manually selected. For a COOLPIX camera with this feature consider the COOLPIX P900, COOLPIX B700, or COOLPIX A900.
