• The B500 can take LR6/L40 alkaline AA batteries, FR6/L91 lithium AA batteries, or EN-MH2 Rechargeable Ni-MH batteries. Battery performance will vary by type, brand, and camera usage. • yes, the camera is my husband's camera, but he uses rechargeable batteries all of the time. I wouldn't mix them though, use either all rechargeable or all regular batteries.

• I have used both non-rechargeable and re-chargeable batteries just fine, I have taken several hundred pictures and transferred to phone with the Bluetooth/WiFi on the first set of batteries.
