The Nikon COOLPIX B500 digital camera is great for getting sharp and vibrant images in low light, however, there are other challenging factors such as environment and type of sport, that may require manual control of settings. Sports Mode, a dedicated feature of the B500, will allow you to capture about 7 images continuously at a rate of about 7.7 frames per second (fps). Auto mode offers a variety of continuous options for fast movement, as well as a "subject tracking" feature that will allow you to track a fast moving subject quickly and easily. Additionally this camera offers white balance options to help match the camera to the lighting environment you may be in, so image colors are more natural. A tripod is recommended for times when you cannot hold the camera or want to keep it in a fixed position. If you would like more manual control in a compact, point-and-shoot camera, check out the COOLPIX B700, which offers a range of controllable modes and features that allow you to take full manual control of every shot.
