“I am interested in this phone by Nikon-Coolpix B500 for several reason. Will this Camera work without having to have a cell phone of any kind. I just want the availability to take good pictures rather it is up close, or at a distance.”

This camera works for everything. Its wifi connectivity lets you use another wifi device as a second viewer. This is simply a great camera, and a great value. If high quailty is not needed, I would recommend a less expensive device.

With the Nikon Snapbridge app, available for free download for iOS and Android based smart devices, you can view the images on your cameras memory card through app on your phone. This is done via Bluetooth connection. In addition, you can control the cameras shutter through app, effectively taking pictures using your phone that are simultaneously saved on the card to be viewed on your phone. You can then take those images and post to social media, or use the many third-party photo editing apps you may have already downloaded to your device to modify the picture.
