“Can this cam take sharp pics and make blurry background? I want a new camera for taking decent pics of my son. I love when an object either person or flowers could be sharp and clear while the background is blurry. Does anyone know if this camera does ?”

• The COOLPIX S7000 has a Portrait Scene Mode on it. The portrait scene mode will automatically blur the background while keeping your subject sharp. In addition, the camera has a great technology called Auto Scene Selector. When the camera is in this mode, it will automatically detect the subjects face and set the scene mode to Portrait without any input from you.

• This camera does great scenes, portraits or macros. Terrific, small and easy to use. Use as a point and shoot or get as complicated as you wish.
