Q: QuestionI know that the D3400 doesn't come with a internal memory card but do you need one in order to take pictures and or taking pictures and downloading them to a computer?

• A:Answer As the Nikon D3400 DSLR camera does not have internal memory space, a memory card will be needed for recording images and video. • A:Answer No. The Nikon D3400 DSLR camera does not have an auxiliary port for adding additional viewing screens nor does it have a mic port for attaching a microphone. For a separated viewing screen option with this camera model try using an HDMI connecting cable attached to an HDMI-CEC supported screen. • A:Answer No, the D3400 has a fixed screen that does not angle or rotate. As an alternative please consider the D5600 which has a Vari-angle touch LCD which can be rotated to face the rear of the camera.

• A:Answer The D3400 camera body does not feature a built-in focus motor, so lenses with built-in focus motors are required for autofocus on this camera. The AF-P DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR Lens included with this kit features a built-in focus motor and will autofocus on the D3400. When considering other NIKKOR lenses to use with the D3400 look for lenses that have the AF-S or AF-P designation.

• A:Answer The Nikon D3400 does not have an HDR (high dynamic range) feature but it does have two choices for D-Lighting, so adjustments can be made before shooting to optimize dynamic range. Transferring images from the camera to a computer is easy. One way to transfer images is to take the memory card out of the camera and place it in the memory card slot on the computer. This will allow you to upload the image files directly to your computer without the camera. Another way to directly upload your images is to keep the memory card in the camera and use the optional UC-E21 USB Cable to connect the computer to the camera. You can then use a software such as Nikon ViewNX-i for even easier transfer of images.
