I am sure it is the US market model. I would be shocked if a major retailer sold the import version. All the manuals are in English and everything looks like a typical US product to me. It comes with the enel14a battery, although the manual says it can actually use either. Hope that helps your decision. I will say I love it and find it to be the perfect mix for me, a serious photography enthusiast. I had the D5000 before this and this was a good step up, while staying in the same model range.
