Nikon sells a GPS module (GP-1A) that plugs into the camera and will add GPS data to your photos. If you use the WiFi on the camera to interface with a smart phone and take the photos with the Nikon WMU app, they (Nikon) say that the photos will use your phone's GPS to tag them but I haven't tried this out yet.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The GP-1/GP-1A can be connected to the camera's accessory port with supplied cabe. This allows the information on the camera's current position to be recorded when photographs are taken but it does not have a Date Stamp option, the information is stored in the photo's meta data. Additional software such as View NX-i would be required to view this information. Also the D5500 does have the Date Stamp option to imprint this information on the photo's taken.
