No software is needed for the Nikon ML-L3 Wireless Remote Control accessory to work. This remote accessory, however, is not compatible with the Nikon D5600 DSLR camera. The compatible remote accessories for remote shooting on the D5600 would be the WR-R10 and WR-T10. Additionally, you can also connect the D5600 to a compatible smart device running the SnapBridge application; this will allow you to use your smart device as a remote control.
