If I hadn't read the instructions thoroughly and watched a couple of online videos, I could understand your concern. The Thermal Flavor Extraction is what makes the coffeemaker hesitate during its dripping process so that it can soak and extract all the full flavor from the coffee grounds. This is what makes the coffee flavor so much better than other coffeemakers. Set it and forget it. Just let it do its thing and you will get a delicious cup of coffee every time.

U must also pre clean Ur unit before use. If U failed to perform this important task Ur machine is not ready for first time use. Once this task is completed Ur machine should be ready for use
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I read that it is not unusual for the machine to hesitate for a few seconds. Just be patient and it will start back up again by itself. Just be patient. It is something that it does to utilize the ground coffee that you put into it instead of just letting the water run through it. It does make for a definite better cup of coffee because of this feature.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You must learn to be patient. Or learn about your machine before using it. That is part of the point of a Ninja coffee maker. It first spits out enough water to properly soak the grounds and it sits for a minute. Then it'll continue onward and slow release water through the filter. Making good coffee is not a race.
