“I am looking at this model for my daughter's apartment. For the sake of space I am looking at this model verses the one with the built in frother. Are their any differences? Would the glass carafe or the stainless one be best to choose?”

I prefer the stainless steel as it keep coffee hot longer the brew cycles make it possible to make all kinds of coffees teas etc

With the frother pulled out it would add 1 ½ - 2 inches to the width of the unit. In terms of whether to choose thermal or glass that is a decision best made by you. With that said, take into consideration that a thermal carafe model will not have the warming plate available but the carafe will keep your coffee warm for up to 2 hours. There are many special coffee drinks you can make with this Ninja. It comes with a recipe book. They're easy and spot on.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I saw both models in person and the the foot print is about the same. You do need to allot additional width for the frother of course. I like the stainless carafe better because it's thermal, keeps the coffee hot for well over an hour. Because the carafe is thermal the machine doesn't have a warming plate, so the coffee doesn't get scorched after 15 minutes.

Since the carafe is insulated, it keeps the coffee hot without a heating plate which gives the coffee a burnt flavor and smell. The frother is in a glass cup, that is separate; so it is easy to wash and the machine is less bulky. Makes great coffee and has a variety of options.

We opted for the glass, rather than the steam frother. We have to work on that more. Using both 2% and whole milk, we're not getting great results so far. We chose the stainless carafe, and I like it. It keeps the coffee warm longer than glass without the overheating of a warming plate.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This Ninja comes with a hand frothed which works well it’s just not heated. I have the thermal carafe. It holds the coffee hot for a long time. It allows me to turn the machine off and not have a warmer that tends to keep cooking the coffee making it bitter. I love mine.
