Hello Lexi. I have the dualbrew pro and love it. Regarding tea bags, the system has a separate water line that boils water for instant oatmeal, instant mac and cheese, or instant soup, tea. In other words, it gives you boiled water dispensed in a mug or whatever you use that can withstand water at that temperature. Then you can pour your oatmeal or drop a tea bag and let it steep. I have another knock off machine at work that I use for coffee and tea pods. Only issue is that I have to brew hot water first and then insert my tea pod otherwise my tea will taste like coffee. But the ninja has a separate water line for making hot water. I hope this answered your question.

Not if you're asking if the machine will do any of the steeping for you. It will dispense water that is hot enough to steep any tea, however. It'll just have to be steeped in your cup or even in the carafe (it'll dispense up to 55 oz of near-boiling water)! One point: please note that although the product description and the disaplay says "boil" that it doesn't actually boil when that function is selected. The hottest it gets is around 190F.

It has a separate function for hot water for tea (to keep the coffee taste away from the tea). If you put them in a coffee filter as loose tea I wouldn't think it would give you the "steeping" flavor you are accustomed to. If I was to make it for my husband who loves tea, I would most likely use the coffee pot and drop several tea bags inside to steep or for a single cup, use the tea spigot.
