• Hi, we have ours on a open back self, with 2'' top clearance. This unit is one of best kitchen items we ever bought. Ninja rules.

• I would not recommend, the whole unit is metal and gets very hot so wood would catch fire and also if the unit doesn’t have adequate airflow it will irately burn up voiding your warranty
