I bought 6.5 to fit 5-6 lbs chicken. I am returning though because I wanted delayed pressure release option that’s only on 8qt. Other than one lid, the previous version is good enough. The width is same on 6.5 & 8 quart. The 8 qt is about 1-1/2-2 inches higher. Extra height is probably better so food isn’t as close to heating element and less likely to burn.
