I don’t let anything that conducts heat sit on my counters... I use tons of cutting boards... tp protect my counters... you never know if it will heat up .. I also try to protect my cabinets from steam... grease in steam from cooking... I have rolling carts also plus being short they make for ease of maneuvering...I am always trying to protect... less cleanup or remodeling...depending how long your cabinets are there is a good 10 in.from bottoms of cabinets....
