“Tea needs a certain steeping time. I realize this unit adjusts temperature for various teas but it couldn't possibly be steeping, is it? Does it come out flavorful and strong enough?”

It does steep. Unlike other coffee makers this one doesn't drip the water through as it hits you tea or coffee. It holds it Ina reservoir that releases the tea/coffee after it steeps. It's also how it makes cold coffee, which is actually warm but not a bitter as hit brewed. As for the strength, I like my tea strong and use those fruity teas and they come out flavorful enough for me. You'll have to test it out yourself to find if it's strong enough for you.

It will go through multiple steep cycles on certain flavors every flavor has its own setting and steeping process for best steep. im not a tea drinker but my wife is and she loves how it tastes.
