Yes you can remove the bean hopper. The handle turns counterclockwise closing the bottom of the hopper, then pulls out. Once out you can remove the top grinding burr for cleaning. If you hold the grind button down, the remaining beans/coffee in the lower burr will be pushed out the bottom.

Yes, the bean holder (Espresso Bean Hopper) on the Luxe is removable. You can easily take it out to empty or switch beans. Just twist it counterclockwise to remove it without spilling.
