The pitcher is plastic and the blade can be removed for cleaning. The blade is all one attachment.

We would also like you to know that the Ninja® Total Crushing® Blade assembly is easily removable. With this being said, the blades are extremely sharp. After you have finished blending, leave the cover on the pitcher when pouring the mixture into a glass/cup. If the mixture is too thick to do this, remove the lid and blade assembly, set them aside, and then pour out the mixture. We hope this information helps. The Customer Support Team
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The pitcher is made of plastic, and the blades are easily removable. No unscrewing anything, as with other blenders. The entire blade pole can easily be removed by just lifting it out of the blender.
