• No the connectors are different. However the remote feels identical. You can get wireless versions of these as well as extension cords for wired ones. You’ll likely need one or the other since the runs are not long and televisions are much larger now than in the past.

• No you can’t, better connection if you ask me they even have a wireless controller.
