A tool is provided in the packet that 'stretches' the protector to fit over the end of the cord. Instructions were included as well. Getting it over the USB end of the cord was a bit of a challenge first time attempted, but with some practice using the tool it gets easier each time. From my experience, making sure the protector is on the tool correctly to the way you push the cord through is key to making it a quick and easy process.
