Yes the game has to be released to receive the gamers discount. Ive encountered this on many preorder games. It will show up as full price until the game is released then the discount will apply.

Please try again later.While I'm not sure how digital downloads might affect the problem I have noticed you must be logged into bestbuy.com before adding an item to your cart. Other wise it doesn't seem to count the gamers club discount, even if you log in afterwards. Usually all you have to do is remove the product and then go back to the item to add it to your cart again. I've noticed this issue a few times in the past and I hope it fixes the problem you have.
