“How does this recline? Considering for my 86 year old Mom recovering from hip surgery. Needs to be an easy smooth recline. She also prefers the back portion to stay upright while the feet raise to prevent swollen feet”

It reclines easily for my wife and I. You push on the armrests and lean back to recline. You can sit back up a little before the leg rest folds down. If her hip hurts, it may be difficult for her to do it. A chair with a footstool may be better for her.
