“How much of a delay is there for long pressing for speed dial? I am looking for a senior who may press the button longer than a younger person and I don’t want it to constantly ask to setup speed dial.”

There is an option in the settings to customize what the power button (the one on the right of the phone, beneath the volume buttons) does when you click it 3 times quickly. I have it set to quick dial my girlfriend. If you do it with the lid closed, it will automatically set the phone to speaker phone and may call whilst closed.
