You should contact your provider and ask them to confirm that this model phone works outside the USA. If it does then ask them what temporary travel/roaming plans they offer. With Verizon they offer two options, one is a per day plan which automatically charges you $10 per day outside of the US and Canada. The second is where you can buy a one month roaming plan and travel as much as you want during the month. This is cheaper if you are traveling more than a week to ten days during the month. If you are eligible for any discounts like the military discount I have with Verizon it can make the monthly option even more affordable. Just make sure to confirm that the monthly plan automatically turns off at the end of the month so you are not charged for additional months unless you do travel every month for business.
