“I must have had too much liquid in the cup and liquid spilled out everywhere while blending. Is the blender broken now and no longer usable? I'm afraid to turn it on now in case of electric shock or something.”

No it’s not broken. Just make sure all of the liquid is cleaned out and give it time to dry out. In the future don’t pour liquids past the fill line on the cup and remember to tighten the lid as far as it will go to seal the gasket inside the lid. I hope this helps. Good luck.
